Event Description: This talk will discuss how the digital and social media revolution is re-shaping the talent identification industry. With sales of i-Phones outpacing human birth rates, Facebook approaching 1 billion users, and a new LinkedIn member added every second, what is the future of the psychological assessment and recruitment industries? Although the digital revolution has generated unprecedented demand for psychological profiling, it is seriously disrupting the talent identification business: compared to big data mining, social media analytics, and gamification, some of the industry's best established tools and practices are beginning to look as archaic as CDs and the fax machine. In fact, an even bigger change is the transition from a B2B to a B2C (and even C2B) model of staffing. What does this mean for I-O Psychology?
